JW Newman joined Medical City Dallas in January as associate chief operating officer (ACOO).
Newman had previously served as ACOO, co-ethics and compliance officer and co-chief staffing officer at Medical City Fort Worth since January 2016. Prior to that, he was an administrative resident with Medical City Healthcare, serving at the division office in Las Colinas, as well as at Medical City Dallas, Medical City Fort Worth and Medical City Plano.
Newman earned a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Newman will be replaced at Medical City Fort Worth by Vernon Jones II who will join as ACOO on Jan. 22.
Jones comes to Fort Worth from the Houston area, where he has worked since September 2015 as director of operations for CHI St. Luke’s Health Woodlands, Lakeside and Springwood Village hospitals. Prior to that, he served one year as director of ambulatory clinics and three years as manager of urology/ENT for HCA Healthcare’s Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. He also previously served two years as clinical services manager for Ochsner Health System in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Jones earned a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas Southern University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives.
