What are the Benefits of Cancer Rehabilitation?
Our cancer rehabilitation program is staffed by a group of trained professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists who can help patients cope with a variety of cancer-treatment related symptoms, such as:
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Joint stiffness
- Limb swelling
- Trouble with balance and walking
- Memory loss
- Trouble talking
- Trouble swallowing
Who Can Benefit from Cancer Rehabilitation?
We serve all survivors in need, whether they are beginning treatment, finished with treatment, or experiencing late effects or unresolved issues from long-ago treatment. Our program is open to everyone no matter the prognosis, cancer stage or phase of recovery.
Most cancer rehabilitation services in the STAR Program are reimbursed by health insurance providers. Check your insurance plan for specific rehabilitation benefits.
