Innovative Concepts at the MIBS Center at Medical City
The 360 Minimally Invasive Concept
This unique neurosurgical approach allows the removal of complex brain tumors from all locations within the brain and skull base – with minimal brain manipulation, no cosmetic insult and maximal preservation of function.
Extradural Navigation Concept
This approach uses the natural extradural spaces t the skull base to gain access to deep brain tumors. This strategy avoids unnecessary early exposure and manipulation of the brain, therefore reducing brain injury and complications.
No Footprint Concept
At MIBS, the routine use of minimally invasive strategies in neurosurgery has resulted in less brain trauma and manipulation. These advantages are clearly illustrated by the absence of footprints – brain edemas and contusions on post-operative MRIs – and their undesirable consequences.
