Accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), the Center offers an enhanced level of care with a comprehensive team assembled just for you.
Focusing exclusively on breast health, our team includes dedicated breast imagers, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologist, pathologists, and experienced oncology nurses; in collaboration with extensive support services which include cancer genetic counselor, breast care navigator, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, physical therapists, lymphedema specialists and counselors.
"You just have to have support. I want to be there for women who don't have that."
The Breast Center at Medical City prides itself in providing comprehensive, individualized, high quality breast care including state-of-the art risk assessment, testing, diagnostic and treatment options. In addition to digital mammography, the Breast Center offers Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultrasound procedures. The Center also offers women access to innovative biopsy techniques, including less invasive stereotactic and image-guided procedures. The Breast Center at Medical City has a dedicated mammography radiologist and offers convenient scheduling. Medical City’s breast surgeons and plastic surgeons specialize in breast cancer surgery and in advanced breast reconstruction techniques.
In 2012, The Breast Center at Medical City received full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). During the survey process, Medical City demonstrated compliance in all 27 standards established by NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease. The surveyor commended Medical City for an “excellent program” with a “palpable and outstanding team spirit.” Accreditation by NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care, and undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
Dr. Alison Laidley, Breast Center Medical Director, and Medical City’s dedicated interdisciplinary team provide the best possible treatment for patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
Medical City's Stories of Hope
Arlenna Williams was diagnosed with breast cancer while caring for her 11-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son, left quadriplegic after a high school football accident. She's also a special education teacher's assistant which really doesn't give her much time to worry about herself. "Once I found out, it wasn't a death sentence to me. I never thought I was going to die," Arlenna said.
Debbie Webb lives in Arkansas and loves to travel with her husband to Florida, Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta. But when it came to breast reconstruction surgery after her double mastectomies, she knew it was time for a trip to Dallas. There weren't any surgeons in Arkansas who offered the reconstruction procedure she wanted to have performed.
