Welcome to the home of the Southwest Pediatric Nephrology Study Group (SPNSG). We are delighted that you've come to visit. This site has been developed to describe the SPNSG and provide information on clinical trials and other collaborative multicenter studies developed by the SPNSG. In addition, we will link with other sources of information on renal diseases. We hope that the information will be of benefit to you. If you have any feedback to provide us, please click the feedback button at the bottom of this page or send an email to spnsg@lonestarhealth.com. Our MissionThe SPNSG was formed in 1980 to develop multicenter collaborative studies in children with kidney disease. In its first few years of operation, the SPNSG focused on the natural history of renal diseases in children, with particular emphasis on certain poorly characterized glomerular disorders. Some of these reviews have provided a basis for the developement of therapeutic protocols. The best example of this is the North American study of IgA nephropathy. We have also sought to identify childhood markers of risk for development of renal abnormalities in adult life and to intercede in this course. Examples of our multicenter studies to achieve these goals are provided in the bibliography of published studies. Copies of the published reports can be obtained upon request at spnsg@lonestarhealth.com. Central OfficeThe SPNSG Central Office is located in the Department of Clinical Research at Medical City Dallas Hospital, 7777 Forest Lane, Suite C-740, Dallas, Texas 75230-2518, under the direction of Ronald J.
