High School and College Volunteer Programs

Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 4:30pm.

Our summer programs for high school and college students begin with the application process, taking place in January and February. Please call Volunteer Services at (972) 566-7066 and leave your name, address, phone number and the school you attend. The correct application forms will be sent along with the appropriate information for the volunteer program you are interested in attending over the summer. Once a high school student has volunteered during the summer we welcome him or her to help us during the school year. (Minimum age to volunteer is 14, entering ninth grade in the fall.)

The Medical City Dallas Auxiliary

Every adult volunteer at Medical City is also a member of the Medical City Auxiliary. This strong volunteer organization not only provides the personal touch helpful to patients in our hospital, but also helps keep our hospital sensitive to the community’s impression of the patient care rendered in and by Medical City.

The Medical City Auxiliary Program provides service and education. We support patient service in a number of ways, such as providing direct aid for medications, transportation, etc. through an ongoing fund, and we provide gifts and toys for the Pediatric Toy Closet.

Proceeds from auxiliary fundraisers and projects are designated for scholarships, educational programs, operations of the auxiliary, and non-revenue producing items benefiting patients, families and communities. Proceeds are distributed for tax-exempt purposes, with emphasis placed on providing health career scholarships.

The Medical City Auxiliary is a non-profit, self-governing organization, authorized by the Medical City Board of Trustees. We hold two to three fundraising projects a year, sell popcorn and deliver flower arrangements to patients. With the funds raised through these projects, the Auxiliary provides six to eight scholarships worth up to $2,000 for students in specific medical/healthcare classes.
