Erol Akdamar, Secretary
Erol Akdamar joined Medical City as CEO in January 2010 and has 19 years of experience in various senior management roles, including hospitals involved in partnerships with the HCA healthcare system. His signature is cultivating an organization that patients trust for their care, and where physicians want to practice medicine and employees want to work. Medical City has seen automatic improvement in satisfaction scores in the two years of Medical City’s Patient Promise initiative. A similar endeavor at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas, where he served as CEO, yielded unprecedented increases in hospital satisfaction scores–employee satisfaction, inpatient satisfaction and physician satisfaction were all among the very best in the country.
Akdamar earned his Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Tulane University School of Public Health in New Orleans. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of Texas Hospital Association’s Council on Policy Development.
